Half term holidays

It's the half term holidays this week - what are you looking forward to doing?

Beavers - Bronze Award

A big well done to Millie, who has been a star at Beavers. She spent the night on a campsite with the Beavers and earned herself the Bronze award. Well done Millie.

Stars of the Week - 17th October 2014

Well done to our Stars of the Week. Harleigh, Daniel, Haider, Sophie, Terrell, Mia, and Lewis.

Dodgeball - Extra curricular (demonstration in assembly)

Rick Lee from Bury Football Club came in and demonstrated 'Dodgeball' to the children in assembly. The course will start on the first day back after the holidays and will run until just before Christmas (the last session will be on 8th December).

Sunshine Token Prize Winners - 10th October 2014

There were lots of tokens in the Sunshine Token boxes this week. The lucky winners were Maxwell and Sam.

Gardening Prize Winners

We have been working hard to improve our garden and grounds around school. Three children from Peel Brow won a local competition to promote the garden; they made posters, drew pictures and even spoke to judges from the Royal Horticutural Society. The winners were Jacob Rorke, Emma Greenwood, and Eleanor Durkin.

Year 5 Family Assembly

Children in Year 5 performed their Family Assembly which gave everyone a great idea of all the things they've been doing this term. It was extremely informative and showed that Year 5 have really enjoyed their start in Year 5 and have learnt lots and lots. Please have a look at the photos and video...

Eagle and Child Mural

Peel Brow School are working closely with Eagle and Child and are designing a mural to enhance the environemnt and outlook in the community garden. Children from acroos the school met with Joy Ladds in the school's Art and Design studio to discuss ideas,take photos, sketch and design the murals. Joy Ladds said, "The children were really motivated and enjoyed discussing their ideas. It will really brighten up the Community Garden."Joy will then set up two further mornings to work on site at Eagle and Child, to paint their designs onto the mural boards. Danny Mellor said, "The children have enjoyed their first session and are really looking forward to painting on the large boards and to see the finished product. Peel Brow School work hand in hand with the local community and have secured strong links."

Everyone had a great time. The food was gorgeous. We had an Anglo-Saxon theme.
