Harvest festival Assembly

The children really enjoyed the Harvest Festival assembly. All the children sat in a round with our magnificent fruit and vegetable centrepiece the focal point. We sang some lovely songs, Autumn Days, and Light Up the Fire.

Revd. Andy Lindop then addressed the school; he told us about sharing, being thankful and how we can support and help each other. He also introduced us to his puppet and we sang another song which had lots of actions. Mr. Mellor said, 'It was brilliant to see everyone involved in singing along with Revd. Lindop. All the pupils loved it and showed a fantastic understanding of the Christian meanings about Harvest.'

Children in Year 6 then shared bread and fruit with everyone. Mrs. Bennett commented, 'It was such a wonderful moment when Year 6 shared the produce. The awe and wonder in the room was palpable; I felt goose bumps on my arms and I nearly shed a tear!'
