Well done to all our stars!

Tower Token treat - Airtrack

The children have been working hard to gain 'Tower Tokens' over the term. As a treat the children who achieved the most were able to spend a session going on the 'Airtrack'.

The children earn Tower Tokens for excellent behaviour, manners and being considerate and helpful, All the staff in school give Tower Tokens as a reward.

Danny Mellor, headteacher said, 'The children try extremely hard to earn 'Tower Tokens' and to be the best they can be. This is a great motivational tool which the children really respond well to. They certainly have earned this treat. The 'Airtrack' was run by Bury Football Club's Community Trust who also provide some extra playtime and curriculum sessions for the children, which also impacts positively on the children's behaviour.'

 

 

EYFS PJ/ Onesie Day

The children in EYFS came to school wearing their pyjamas and their onesies. It was great fun. They spent a lovely day reading books and sharing ideas.

Mrs Nelson, EYFS leader, said, "The children enjoyed listening to the Nightmare Before Christmas and were brilliant at finding rhyming words. We also enjoyed drinking our delicious hot-chocolate and snuggling up to share our books."

Festive Fun and Santa's visit

The children have been getting into the party mood today with parties in the morning and in the afternoon. Everyone had such great fun.

Santa even paid a visit and met with the children in Year 2, Year 1, Reception and Nursery. The children asked some inquisitive questions; "Santa, how old are you and how many elves do you have?" and "Do you use a surf board to deliver presents to Australia?". The children also sang some songs to Santa: you can see the Year 1 & Year 2 effort below.

Mr. Mellor said, "The children had a lovely time and they were overjoyed to meet Santa Claus. They asked Santa intersting questions and are all really looking forward to seeing what Santa brings them on Christmas morning."

Maureeen and her Snowmen

Maureen Oxton, who works in the school kitchen for Mellors, has done something wonderful this week. She has given every single child in the school a woollen snowman which she has made herself. She started making them in March and has just finished.

The children were really please with their present and Maureen has had plenty of hugs and thank-yous (which are thoroughly deserved).

Mr. Mellor has said, "The children were so pleased and happy with their snowmen. I have spoken to the children about them and some have said they even take them to bed with them at night. Maureen is such a lovely person and to spend all this time and effort doing this is absolutely fantastic. We are so lucky to have such a generous and thoughtful person working here at Peel Brow School."
