Please find below an email received re: the proposed AD waste plant - if anyone
is interested in speaking at the meeting Speaker 2) could you please let us know
here at school.
The AD Waste Plant
planning inquiry commenced this week and is due to last around 11
days.
We, and RAWS have had some good support over the last few
days. As local Councillors, we have made our views known to the Inspector and
RAWS are making submissions on Friday and next Monday, but the Planning
Inspector has announced that an evening session will also take place next Monday
evening (16th March) between 5pm and 8pm for local residents to air their
views.
We want as many residents there as possible. Please do
pass this email on to friends, neighbours, family etc.
The venue is the Elizabethan Suite at Bury Town Hall
(around the corner from the main town hall entrance).
To try and co-ordinate residents responses, the Inspector
has asked us to arrange for around half a dozen residents to be able to say a
few words on the night. If you are able to say a few words, can you contact us
as soon as possible.
The Inspector has said that he will not allow repetition
of the same arguments by each resident, so ideally, we would like the
following:-
1. Someone from the Rossendale side of the quarry to say
that they haven’t been consulted by the Council over the appeal but will get the
pollution from the site.
2. A parent/teacher from Peel Brow re concerns at the school regarding odour etc
3. A member of the business community with fears about business
4. A resident from Whalley Road regarding dust and filth on their house

5. A Marshalls employee worried about the smell (maybe
this last one is too much to hope for!)
Do let us know if you can help, and hopefully we will see
everyone on Monday evening!
Best wishes
