Peel Brow School had another successful time at the ICT Oscars this year. This
year we had 5 entries shortlisted for the main prizes. We won two Oscars and
were commended in three other categories. Our EYFS entries were shortlisted in
all the sections. The winning entries were 'Born a Coder' in the EYFS Audio
section and 'Baa Code' in the EYFS Video category.
Mrs. Nelson (Computing
Co-ordinator) said ,"The IT skills are becoming more and more embedded in all we
do here at school; all the way from Nursery up to Year 6. The children love to
use Flip cameras, laptops, iPads and Talking Cans and it motivates them to do
their best."
Mr. Mellor (headteacher) commented, "As a school we thread IT
and Computing through the whole of the curriculum, whether that is using laptops
to conduct research or programming a Beebot to move in different directions
using the points of a compass. We find that the children are really engaged and
it certainly is impacting positively on our academic progress and attainment."
