Christingle Service

The children in Year 3 told the rest of the school all about Christingle during a special assembly on Wednesday 3rd December. All the children sang Christmas carols, and Reverend. Barnshaw talked to the children about the importance of Christingle and how we should all share and look after each other. The children in Year 3 then told everyone about the Christingle and what the different parts mean, such as the ribbon, the orange, the 4 sticks and the sweets, they even told us the story of the first Christingle and Bishop John de Watteville. Children in Year 6 then read the Christmas Story whilst Silent Night played in the background. At the end of the assembly we said prayers, and then lit our Christingles. Mr. Mellor spoke to the children afterwards and they said they learnt a lot and it was really nice to think about other people and how important Christmas is to everyone.
